Have you tried installing the latest video card drivers?

Did you overclock your card? Sounds like you fried it.

See if you can get it to work at different resolutions / refresh rates

Had this problem with an Nvidia card I had a few years ago, I ended up taking it out and cleaning and reseating it. That worked for about a week but it must have been a coincidence because it fried a week later. Good luck!

The sofware solutions don't clear up the issue and reseating it doesn't help, it could be the power supply.

If it's my power supply then why wouldn't it have happened like a year or two ago?

power supplies can go at anytime, and sometimes they don't get enough juice to come components over time.

... the more computer problems i help diagnose, the more frequent the damn PSU seems to be the culprit. its very difficult to diagnose at times.

(i had a 6800gtx on my old rig, that kept having a different kind of artifacts.... it was due to a faulty cheap PSU. took me over a year to figure that out)

If you do suspect the power supply and go to replace it, make sure you buy a quality brand like PowerPC, antec, or CoolerMaster.

Omni, you have no idea how many shitty power supplies are out there (no disrespect to you). I've kept up with the solid ones and there are many so many specs that don't me much on there own. I'm at school now, but will post later some good forums to find quality PSUs.

Link #1 Go hear to get an idea of how many total watts your system needs. Also be mindful of how many amps the 12 V rail supplies. According to BFG the 7900 GTX needs a 12 V rail that can supply at least 26 A.
Link #2 Small enough list to find what you need. You'll have to compare some prices, but that's not much to ask.
Link #3 Another list- many of the less expensive PSUs are no longer available, so you'll have to check quite a few to find a nice one.
Link #4 The items listed here are overkill for omni, but I wanted to included them incase someone was looking for a medium - high end PSU.
